Bye-Bye Birdy

This hawk hangs around our place all the time and, after months of trying, I was finally able to get a decent picture of it. It's tough to get close enough to one without it seeing you and taking off, but I was able to use that fact to my advantage today and get this neat shot of one in mid-flight.

God Hath Shined

Today we went over to a family member's house to celebrate a birthday and all the women got together and scrapbooked. Even though I do love photography, scrapbooking just isn't my thing and so I headed outside with my camera. This is the last photo I took before coming inside and I thought this verse suited it nicely.

Be Still...

Hot or Cold?

I love the warmth of this shot, but it was actually taken on one of the coldest days so far this year. It never even got above 20 degrees.

Man-Eating Moth

Is it just me, or does this moth look a little intimidating?

"As The Hart Panteth After The Water Brooks..."

Back near the end of November, one of my faithful followers, Icewolf, commented and asked if I could one day use this verse as the theme for one of my photos. Sorry it took so long, but here it is.

30 Second Bumblebee Documentary

I shot this video back in the summer and thought I’d post it for you guys to see. I'm the one narrating, but I don't really have an accent. In reality, who has ever seen a nature documentary with some southerner doing the voice-overs?

Armadillo (Second Photo)

Here's another shot of the same armadillo from my last post.

Armadillo

My philosophy when photographing animals is to get as close as possible, and I was thrilled to get this close-up of an armadillo my sister spotted on our property.

"America's Most Trusted Tool Brand"

I took this photo today of an old toolbox and I thought it turned out pretty neat. There's an old saying in photography that says "less is more", and I thought this shot illustrates that concept wonderfully.
