This is one animal I never thought I'd get a shot of. Even though moles obviously can't see very well at all, they sure know how to kick it into high gear when they feel threatened. So even if you're lucky enough to see one of these guys above ground, don't count on an easy time getting it to hold still.

Awesome! I've never seen a mole up close; around our place we have mostly marmots.

We have more gophers than moles, and I've never seen one myself. Isn't it neat How God made so many specialized animals?
