After having experienced almost 24 hours worth of rain, I think this photo perfectly captures the feeling in the air during those first few moments after the sun finally popped out.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
-Revelation 21:4
These are the same crocuses from my last photo, but would you believe this is actually the more recent shot? I was surprised to wake up to 4" of snow yesterday morning and even more surprised to realize that crocuses aren't bothered by it. Spring is determined to get here one way or another!
No, this photo didn't come from my archives. I was looking for something worth taking a picture of this afternoon when I spotted these flowers starting to bloom and, at a distance, thought it must have been some kind of yellow yard ornament. But upon closer inspection, I realized that my Grandma's crocuses are indeed blooming. Goodbye winter!

I was so excited that we finally got our first snow, but I wasn't prepared for the extreme temperatures I'd have to deal with in order to get any pictures of it. I would take about 5 pictures, and then have to put my hands in my coat pocket to regain feeling in my fingers. Nevertheless, I have some neat photos to share with you guys that I think were well worth the freezing temps. |

This is a photo I took back in July of some wild grapes I spotted during a camping trip of ours. Apparently the birds had missed this particular cluster, because they were much larger than any others in the surrounding area. I had to climb up onto a nearby bench, but I was finally able to get a satisfactory shot. |

I thought this photo I took tonight was pretty neat. I really like the silk-like strands running all over the background, and the brownish strand that runs along the edge of each blade looks really neat to me.
By the way, this is a yucca, in case you were wondering. |

These thorns are part of the same rosebush as my last photo. I actually got poked a couple times trying to get the perfect shot of this plant. |
 |
I snapped this photo early this afternoon of a late-blooming rose near our house. It was the only one left on the plant, and I’m glad I remembered to go check it out before it withered away. (Available in 5x7 and 8x10 only) |

I was surprised to see this dandelion so late in the year, and the late evening sun made for a great photo opportunity. |
 |
I love the lighting in this shot. Even though it’s of the same subject from below, the overall feel is completely different. |

Most people are probably spending their Saturday watching movies and planning a night out with the family. And while there’s no shame in that, I prefer to use my spare time taking pictures – what I’ve been doing a good part of the afternoon. Here’s a taste of what I came up with.

Generally speaking, using your flash before the sun is all the way set usually ruins your shot (especially when your subject is more than a few inches away). I experimented with this particular flower, however, and I think the results were pretty good. This photo falls into the 1% minority of nature shots that are actually improved by firing the flash at dusk. |

For some, the sight of leaves changing and the gust of a cold breeze brings great happiness and a strange yearning for hot chocolate. Still yet others would rather enjoy the beauty of spring all year ‘round and experience nature at its fullest, picking wildflowers in their spare time. If you are such a person, then this photo is for you. Fall stole away these gorgeous flowers which grew alongside our road without any coaxing whatsoever. |

|
I really like the way this photo turned out. The flower really sets the shot off, and the 4 leaf clover in the corner gives it that finishing touch. |

|
It gets on my family’s nerves that I’m able to find these things so easily. When I decided I’d like to have a photo of a four leaf clover earlier today, it took me about 3 minutes to find this magnificent specimen. Years ago, I found 17 of them in one hour’s time. No joke. |

Not Available for Download These wildflowers have been absolutely everywhere lately, and I took a picture of these near our driveway last week. I thought they were really pretty.

Who knew that fungus could be so attractive? I thought this was a really pretty rock, despite the fungus that was engulfing it. |
