At this point I would advise the little fellow simply to stay away from sharp objects until those chips have a chance to digest.






I'm not exactly sure what kind of frog this is, but it was too cool not to photograph. I really like the texture and deep contrast of the bark and think it really makes the frog stand out. What do you think?




If you think this looks different than your average turtle, then you're right. It's actually a decent-sized snapping turtle I spotted on one of our hikes, apparently having ventured from the water during the recent rains. It was getting pretty warm out when I got this shot, so I'm hopeful he was able to find his way back to where he belonged.

This is one animal I never thought I'd get a shot of. Even though moles obviously can't see very well at all, they sure know how to kick it into high gear when they feel threatened. So even if you're lucky enough to see one of these guys above ground, don't count on an easy time getting it to hold still.
