Two of Hearts

Sorry it's been so long since I've uploaded any photos. Now that I've found a job it's suddenly much more difficult to maintain two websites, not to mention the fact that photography has been pretty slow lately. We still have at least one more camping trip planned this year so hopefully I'll get enough shots then to keep things going for a while!

Be Not Conformed

{Hover Over Image for Inspirational Version}

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

The Mill

It may not matter to anybody but me, but this old mill was actually used by my ancestors (as well as many others) more than 100 years ago. It's just a tourist attraction now, but at one time it was fully operative and, back then, many of the area residents carved their name into it's side. I wonder who it was that carved my family's name?

By the way, enjoy your free download! I plan to start giving those away every so often, so keep an eye out!*

Where's the School Buses?

We just got back from a wonderful visit to Alley Springs in Eminence, Missouri, and I am really enjoying going through some of the pictures I took during our trip. This shot of an old, one-room school house is one of my favorites.

Branching Out

When you take pictures as much as I do, you rarely have the same favorite photo for long. I'm not saying this is my new favorite or anything, but I just think there's something special about this particular shot. It may not have the same effect on you, but it seems to have a particularly warm/rustic feel that is different from any other photos I've taken.

Glazed

We had a pretty bad ice-storm sweep through our area this winter and, as you can see, it left a pretty thick layer of ice on all our of our trees. Thankfully we didn't have to deal with any power-outages, though others in our area were not so fortunate.

Snow-Capped Pine Needles

Did you notice my new watermark? I designed it this evening and I thought it turned out pretty neat. Let me know what you think.

White Christmas

Merry Christmas! I was so happy that we were blessed with snow this 25th of December, and have spent quite a bit of time today out enjoying the beautiful day.

Breaking the Rules

In photography, there are several "rules" - most of which I usually try to abide by fairly consistently. On occasion, though, breaking the rules can produce some really neat results. I shot this tree dead-center to accentuate the glow of the sun that was directly behind the trunk and I am extremely happy with the way it turned out, even though centering your subject is usually considered bad photography.
