Ready or Not
Elven Maiden is hosting a spring photo contest over on her blog, and since I'm somebody who loves both spring and photography I thought I'd go ahead and enter. These are the same crocuses from my last photo, but would you believe this is actually the more recent shot? I was surprised to wake up to 4" of snow yesterday morning and even more surprised to realize that crocuses aren't bothered by it. Spring is determined to get here one way or another!
EDIT: I'm grateful to have been awarded 2nd place in the contest. Thanks Elven!

Ice on the Housetop
After about 2-3 weeks of snow being on the ground every single day, it's finally starting to thaw out. As beautiful as they are, I must admit that I won't be missing these icicles for a while.

Glazed
We had a pretty bad ice-storm sweep through our area this winter and, as you can see, it left a pretty thick layer of ice on all our of our trees. Thankfully we didn't have to deal with any power-outages, though others in our area were not so fortunate.

Hot or Cold?
I love the warmth of this shot, but it was actually taken on one of the coldest days so far this year. It never even got above 20 degrees.

Snow-Capped Pine Needles
Did you notice my new watermark? I designed it this evening and I thought it turned out pretty neat. Let me know what you think.
Winter Coat
I love the lighting in the picture. It seems to give everything a warm feel even amidst the bitter cold of winter.

Drip, Drop...
I enjoyed taking advantage of my new tripod this evening by getting this neat photo of a water droplet falling from an icicle. It's a tough shot, but it's worth it if you have the patience to take a dozen or so shots before getting the perfect one.

White Christmas
Merry Christmas! I was so happy that we were blessed with snow this 25th of December, and have spent quite a bit of time today out enjoying the beautiful day.
