Here’s a picture I took back during Labor Day weekend. I’ve always like it, but it took me until tonight to actually take the time to mess with it.

Mallard Ducks
I went fishing this evening, and the park where we were at had dozens of ducks. Even though I came to fish, I couldn’t keep myself from getting a few shots of these beautiful creatures. As it turns out, photography was the only area I had any luck in seeing as I didn't catch anything.
As you'll notice, I experimented a little bit by fading the edges of this shot. Of the many books I've been reading on photography, one photographer suggested it as a means of keeping the viewers' eyes from wandering away from the main subject. That is, it reminds us of what we're supposed to be looking at! Anyway, I thought it turned out pretty neat. Besides that, I think this picture just turned out pretty cool all the way around.

Waterfall and Fern
I thought it was really neat how this fern grew right next to the waterfall. I’ve been there a couple times this year, and it has been there both times. It’s such a peaceful place.

Hide and Seek
Just to give you an idea of how well the grasshopper in my last photo blended in with his surroundings, see if you can spot it in the above photo. It’s pretty tough. Comment if you can find it, but don’t spoil it for anybody else by telling where it is!
Grasshopper
I was fascinated with how well this grasshopper blended in with his surroundings. Though we only seen two that day, I’m certain their were many more right under our noses!
